How To Develop The Rubber Industry
The development of China's rubber industry has three major characteristics: First, China has become the world's largest consumer of rubber, and the output of tires and other major products ranks first in the world. Second, the contradiction between the supply and demand of rubber resources in China is becoming increasingly acute. Currently, more than 50% of rubber is vacant every year. In recent years, China has imported more than 1.8 million tons of rubber every year. It is predicted that by 2020, China's rubber consumption will increase from the current 22% of the world's total rubber consumption to 29%, reaching more than 8 million tons; Third, China has become the world's largest waste rubber production country One of the issues that waste rubber products pollute the environment cannot be ignored. It is estimated that by 2020, the amount of waste rubber produced in China will reach more than 6 million tons. How to use waste rubber is a grim situation. The current status of development in the rubber industry makes it necessary to develop a circular economy.
It is reported that after several decades of production, operation and practice, the rubber industry in China has gradually produced a relatively complete industrial system and formed a rubber resource development, rubber products (including tires, the same below) manufacturing, rubber products distribution, The circular economy industrial chain consisting of the use of rubber products, recycling of waste rubber products, and recycling (refurbishing, reclaimed rubber, plastic powder, etc.).
In recent years, in order to promote the development of circular economy in China's rubber industry, the China Rubber Industry Association has also started from the following three aspects to accelerate the process of sustainable development of the industry.
First of all, do a good job in the production, development and utilization of reclaimed rubber and rubber powder in rubber products factory;
Second, develop energy-saving, environmentally friendly and safe tires;
Third, on the basis of the experience of tire-producing companies engaged in tire-repairing work, they will enter the retreading industry and do a good job of renovating the old tires.
The Chinese rubber industry should promote the development of circular economy from the aspects of changing concepts, adjusting materials and product structure, and increasing the comprehensive utilization of used tires. At the same time, it is hoped that the state will issue relevant policies and regulations, such as formulating preferential policies for the recycling of waste tires, prohibiting the import of used tires for any reason, and promulgating the “Regulations on the Recycling and Management of Waste Tires”, so as to promote the sustainable development of the rubber industry.
